| Update # 3 [Aug 20]
|
| The film recorded good first week
collections of about 20 crore but it is in the second week
that the will come into its own as 8th day was excellent at
80% with the weekend expected to be better. The film will
emerge the second major hit of 2007 after Partner. |
| Update # 2 |
Chak De India - The film opened to a mixed response. The multiplexes opened to a 60% response but the evening shows hit 80-85%. The single screens were lower at 40-50%. Overall the reports are encouraging from major centres and the film should emerge a success in most circuits. Circuits dominated by single screens like Bihar and CP Berar may struggle.

| Update # 1 |
Yash Raj’s latest outing CHAK DE INDIA has had a slow start in India. While the multiplexes were better, the single screens were dull, which is very surprising. In fact, with the two giants [Yash Raj, SRK] coming together after a hiatus, the film should’ve embarked on a 90% + start from its first show onwards. The gentry/multiplex crowd at metros has liked the film, but the masses haven’t embraced the film completely. The next few days are crucial for the film.
KAAFILA: The opening was approx. 40% at several screens. At places, the opening was lower.
THE BLUE UMBRELLA: The film has had a poor start everywhere. But the makers are confident that the film should gather momentum with word of mouth publicity. Will it catch on, is to be seen.
